Athens International Airport is on the Southeast side of the peninsula. It is a small-medium sized international airport with many different airlines serving this popular destination. The airport is well laid out and easy to navigate.
If you’re arriving from another country in the European Union, this is considered much like a US-domestic flight. You do not have to go through passport control. If you’re arriving from a non-EU country or from overseas, you will have to go through passport control.
Getting to/from the airport
The airport is approximately 30-40 minutes outside of the Athens city center and easily reachable via taxi or Uber. Uber will cost you around €30-50 depending on the time of day and traffic conditions.
