Uncovering the Ancient Wonders: The Pyramids of Giza
Step into ancient wonders at the Pyramids of Giza. Marvel at timeless engineering, unlock mysteries, and witness history’s grandeur.
The Pyramids of Giza are a beautiful and historic archaeological destination full of ancient history. Located on the outskirts of Cairo, the Giza pyramid complex has several cemeteries, a village, industrial complex along with the iconic pyramids.
Walking and self-guided tours weave you in and out of the surrounding pyramids and around the Great Sphinx on clearly-marked paths. The bulk of the crowds take the walking tours; if you’re looking for some bad-ass selfies, take a private tour by horse/camel. The journey takes you through tombs, cemeteries, and across the desert to a plateau overlooking the entire complex. From horseback, you’ll be able to snap jealously-inspiring pictures of all nine of the most significant pyramids.
The tour guides have incredible knowledge of the history of Egypt and love to tell you about it during the hours of horse/camel-back riding. You’ll learn about Khufu, Khafre, Menkaure, and the Pyramids of the Queens. What I found most interesting is the local take on the theories behind the construction of the pyramids.

Pyramids of Giza Uncensored
I shouldn’t have the explain the obvious, but the Egyptian sun is freaking hot! The desert sands and indirect reflection of the sun’s rays don’t make anything more refreshing.
Visitors need to be entirely self-sufficient, bringing lots of water, sunblock, or coverings (especially for your head/neck).
If you’re doing the walking-tour (where all the tourists are), bring your patience because there are a lot of shitty, inconsiderate people – all trying to snap selfies.
If you’re looking for pictures to will make your friends jealous, take a camel/horse out to the Southwestern area of the desert. You can get some stunning images with very few people around.
