Cairo transport: buses and taxis exist, airport metro does not

Cairo has a useful metro network inside the city, but it does not currently run into the airport terminals, so do not march toward an imaginary airport station with luggage and confidence. For most first-time visitors, a prearranged car, official limousine or verified metered taxi is the least chaotic transfer. Road crashes are common because driving standards and enforcement vary, so use seat belts and reputable transport.
