Fare Class V or more commonly known as Main Cabin (V) is a revenue fare/booking class of service on Delta Air Lines. The V fare class is the lowest (least expensive) fare classes in the Main Cabin and tickets are considered deeply discounted. This fare class is eligible for complimentary upgrades for SkyMiles members who hold Medallion status.
Fare Class V is the lowest main cabin fare class available. You can book Basic Economy; however there are significant limitations in Fare Class E, especially to SkyMiles members with Medallion status.

Complimentary upgrades
Fare class V is the lowest fare class (10 higher fare classes out of 11 total Main Cabin fare classes), which puts you lowest on the upgrade list for your Medallion tier. Higher medallion tiers, higher fare classes and PM/DM’s who have applied a RUC and GUC will be higher on the upgrade list than this fare class.
