Delta Co-terminal airport lists

One of the best benefits of the Delta SkyMiles program is the same day flight changes. As a Diamond, you have the ability to not only change flight schedule but alter your origination/destination airport as long as they are serving the same metropolitan area — called a “co-terminal”.  Co-terminals are not widely known outside of frequent fliers, but very useful when rebooking travel. Below is the complete list of co-terminals for Delta Air Lines.

Usage scenarios for co-terminal bookings

You’re attending a business meeting in Chicago and your flight back is at 7:00pm out of ORD. If your meeting finishes earlier, you can look for availability on earlier flights at any co-terminal airport in that metropolitan area, in this case ORD or MWD.

Important rules and limitations

  • If you have a direct flight, you can make a same day change to a connecting flight; however, if you have a connecting flight, you cannot change to a direct flight.
  • For flights originally booked in the Main Cabin, the same (or lower) fare class must be available to confirm. If a higher main cabin flare class is available, you will only be able to standby for that flight.
  • For flights originally booked in Comfort+ or First Class, a seat in that cabin must be available.
  • If you have been upgraded (Fare Class OY, OU, SU), you will be rebooked into the originally booked (not upgraded) cabin of service at the lowest available fare class and will have to re-qualify for upgrades.
